Evaluating Time-Restricted Eating in Women with PCOS
Background
Time-restricted eating (TRE) is a method that helps manage weight. However, the best eating window is still debated. This study focuses on the safety and effectiveness of TRE for overweight and obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Objective
The goal of this study is to examine the effects of TRE over six months on:
- Weight change
- Metabolic improvement
- Reproductive recovery
- Quality of life
We will compare results between women who follow TRE and those who do not.
Methods
This study will include 96 women with PCOS, split into two groups:
- TRE group: Eating from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Control group: No eating time restrictions
We will monitor weight and body mass index (BMI) weekly, and other health parameters monthly. All data will be analyzed using various statistical methods to ensure accuracy.
Discussion
This study aims to provide insights into how TRE can benefit overweight and obese women with PCOS. We hope to offer new dietary strategies for this population.
