Study Overview
This study examines how a specific treatment method, called spinal fixed-point rotation reduction, can help relieve pain in patients with lumbar facet joint disorder and improve their lower limb movement.
Study Details
Ninety patients with lumbar facet joint disorder were involved in this study from February 2022 to February 2024. They were divided into two groups:
- Intervention Group: 45 patients received spinal fixed-point rotation reduction treatment.
- Control Group: 45 patients received standard treatments like massage, acupuncture, and traction.
The researchers measured pain levels and various physical abilities before and after the treatment.
Results
Both groups experienced a significant reduction in pain after treatment. However, the intervention group showed a greater decrease in pain levels compared to the control group.
Additionally, both groups improved in:
- Lumbar function (measured by JOA scores)
- Balance ability
- Walking speed (10-meter walk test)
- Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT)
- Daily living activities
Specifically, the intervention group had better results in all these measures compared to the control group after two weeks.
Conclusion
The spinal fixed-point rotation reduction method is effective in reducing pain and improving mobility and function for patients with lumbar facet joint disorder. This treatment can significantly enhance patients’ quality of life and rehabilitation outcomes.
Opportunities for Clinics
Based on the trial results, clinics can:
- Set clear goals to improve patient pain scores and mobility.
- Implement AI tools to track treatment effectiveness and patient progress.
- Start pilot projects to test this treatment method and gather real-world data.
