Exploring Warm Acupuncture with Large-Quantity Moxibustion
Objective: To investigate the clinical impact of warm acupuncture with large-quantity moxibustion on primary premature ejaculation (kidney deficiency and liver stagnation).
Methods: 240 patients were randomly assigned to a warm acupuncture group, an acupuncture group, or a western medication group. The warm acupuncture group received moxibustion after acupuncture at specific points, while the acupuncture group did not receive moxibustion. The western medication group was treated with dapoxetine hydrochloride tablets. Various measurements were taken before and after treatment to evaluate the clinical effect in each group.
Results: After treatment, all groups showed improvements in premature ejaculation symptoms and intravaginal ejaculation latency time. The warm acupuncture group demonstrated additional benefits, including decreased TCM symptom scores and increased serum testosterone levels. The warm acupuncture group also had a higher total effective rate compared to the other groups.
Conclusion: Warm acupuncture with large-quantity moxibustion improves clinical symptoms and increases intravaginal ejaculation latency time and sex hormone levels in patients with primary premature ejaculation (kidney deficiency and liver stagnation).
