Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Plus Kiesler Circle Training (CBT+) for Interpersonal Problems
Study Overview
This study compares two treatments for patients with interpersonal issues: traditional Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and an enhanced version that includes Kiesler Circle Training (KCT).

Study Details
We will conduct a randomized controlled trial with 156 outpatients diagnosed with depression or anxiety, all experiencing interpersonal difficulties.
- All participants will receive individual CBT.
- They will be split into two groups:
- Experimental Group: Receives KCT in addition to individual CBT.
- Control Group: Receives only individual CBT.
The KCT includes:
- 1 introductory individual session
- 12 weekly group sessions (100 minutes each) with up to 10 patients
Topics in KCT include:
- The interpersonal circle
- Nonverbal communication
- Verbal communication
- Conflict resolution
- Empathy training
We expect the experimental group to show:
- Greater improvement in interpersonal problems
- Better symptoms related to their primary diagnosis
Ethics and Sharing Results
This study has received ethical approval from major institutions. Results will be shared in scientific journals and conferences.
