Targeted Nanoparticle-Based Diagnostic and Treatment Options for Pancreatic Cancer
Cancers (Basel). 2024 Apr 20;16(8):1589. doi: 10.3390/cancers16081589.
ABSTRACT
Pancreatic cancer is difficult to diagnose and treat due to its aggressive nature and lack of early detection methods. The dense stroma around the tumor makes drug delivery challenging. Nanotechnology can provide solutions by creating new drug delivery systems for existing anticancer drugs, improving drug solubility, circulation time, and tumor targeting while minimizing side effects. Nanoparticles also show promise in precise diagnostic methods for pancreatic cancer. This review explores targeted mechanisms, pathways, and approaches in treating pancreatic cancer, emphasizing the significant advances in nanomedicine.
