Background

ADHD is a common neurodevelopmental disorder in children. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of BrainFit, a digital intervention combining cognitive and exercise training, in reducing ADHD symptoms and improving executive function in school-aged children.

Methods

The study included 90 children with ADHD, aged 6-12 years, who were randomized to receive the BrainFit intervention or placed on a waitlist. The intervention involved 12 sessions over 4 weeks, delivered on an iPad under supervision. The primary outcomes were assessed using parent-rated questionnaires and behavior scales.

Results

80 children completed the study, with the BrainFit group showing significant improvement in ADHD symptoms and executive function compared to the control group. No severe adverse events were reported.

Conclusions

The digital cognitive-physical intervention was found to be effective for school-age children with ADHD. Further multicenter trials are needed to confirm these findings and assess long-term effects.
