Comparing the Effectiveness of Text-Message Reminders and Patient Navigation for Bowel Cancer Screening
Introduction
Participation in bowel cancer screening is lower in diverse and deprived regions. Text message reminders and patient navigation can help increase participation. This study aims to compare their effectiveness and cost-effectiveness.
Methods and Analysis
A three-arm randomised controlled trial will compare text message reminders, patient navigation, and usual care for increasing bowel cancer screening uptake in London. Participants will be individuals who have not returned a completed screening kit within 13 weeks. The primary endpoint will be participation in screening by week 24.
Ethics and Dissemination
Approvals have been obtained to conduct the research. Results will be shared with stakeholders and published in peer-reviewed journals and academic conferences.
