A Single-Center, Open Label, Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Acne Scar Gel (ASG) in Improving Acne Scar Appearance and Reducing Hyperpigmentation in Subjects With Mild-To-Moderate Acne Scars

Background

Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition affecting up to 80% of people aged 11 to 30. It can lead to issues like redness, dark spots, and scarring, which negatively impact quality of life. Topical treatments are commonly used, and sticking to the treatment plan is crucial for success.

Aims of the Study

This study aimed to assess a new topical gel (TASG) for improving the look of acne scars and reducing dark spots on the skin.

Study Details

The trial involved 27 healthy participants aged 18 to 45 with mild to moderate acne scars and dark spots. Over 12 weeks, participants used the gel twice a day and attended four visits for monitoring.

Results

No serious side effects were reported. By the end of the study, 72.5% of participants showed smoother skin and less hyperpigmentation. Feedback from participants indicated high satisfaction with the product and its ease of use.

Conclusions

The findings suggest that TASG is a safe and effective option for improving the appearance of acne scars and reducing dark spots.
