Study Overview
This study explores how a personalized 3D kidney model can help reduce anxiety in patients before kidney surgery. We believe that by better understanding their condition and treatment, patients can feel calmer and more in control.
Trial Details
The Rein 3D — Anxiety trial involves 234 patients with kidney tumors receiving robot-assisted surgery across 6 centers in France. Patients will receive different types of support during their pre-operative consultation:
- Virtual 3D kidney model
- Printed 3D kidney model
- Standard information sheet (control group)
Participants will complete questionnaires at different stages to measure anxiety, understanding of their treatment, and quality of life.
Expected Outcomes
We aim to show that using a personalized 3D model can:
- Reduce pre-operative anxiety
- Enhance understanding of the disease and treatment
- Improve overall patient experience
Practical Solutions for Clinics and Patients
Based on the trial’s data, we can identify opportunities to:
- Define clear, measurable outcomes for patient anxiety and understanding
- Implement tailored AI tools to enhance patient education and support
- Start pilot projects to assess the effectiveness of these tools
