Background
Skin radiance is important for both health and beauty. It can be affected by skin damage and aging. Chemical peels are often used to improve skin radiance, but they are not suitable for damaged skin.
Study Purpose
This study looks at two natural ingredients: Prinsepia utilis Royle polysaccharides (PURP), which helps repair the skin barrier, and ESETRILLQ (EQ) peptide, known for its anti-aging effects. The goal is to see how well these ingredients work together to improve skin radiance.
Methods
Researchers used human skin models exposed to UVA light and treated them with different combinations of PURP and EQ. They also conducted a clinical trial with 33 individuals who had sensitive skin, using a lotion containing the best combination of these ingredients for two weeks. Skin glossiness and tone were measured at the start, after one week, and after two weeks.
Results
The combination of PURP and EQ significantly improved skin health. The lotion reduced water loss from the skin by nearly 17%. Clinical evaluations showed:
- 22.32% improvement in skin glossiness.
- 35.56% improvement in skin appearance.
- 13.06% increase in skin translucency.
Conclusion
The study found that the combination of PURP and EQ effectively improved skin radiance and strengthened the skin barrier. This offers a promising solution for enhancing the appearance and health of sensitive skin.
Opportunities for Clinics and Patients
Based on the trial data, clinics can set clear goals to improve skin radiance using the PURP and EQ combination. Measurable outcomes include:
- Improved skin glossiness.
- Enhanced skin barrier function.
