We conducted a clinical trial to see which method works better for treating HPV in women living with HIV. We compared two approaches:
1. **HPV screen and treat**: All HPV-positive women received treatment.
2. **HPV screen, triage, and treat**: Only women with positive visual inspection results received treatment.
A total of 544 women with HPV participated in the study, and 433 were randomly assigned to one of the two groups. We found that:
– **CIN 2/3 lesions** were found in 16.7% of women in the first group and 13.3% in the second group.
– After one year, **56.6%** of women in the first group cleared HPV.
– **41.4%** of women in the second group cleared HPV.
The results showed that the second approach was not worse than the first, which means it can be a good option for HPV treatment.
– The trial included 544 women with HPV.
– 433 women participated in the study.
– 56.6% HPV clearance in the first group.
– 41.4% HPV clearance in the second group.
– Both methods are effective for treating HPV.
