Summary of Clinical Study on Qingfei Paidu Granules and Nonpharmacological Interventions for Asymptomatic COVID-19 Patients
Background
The study evaluated the effectiveness of Qingfei Paidu Granules (QFPG) and nonpharmacological interventions in managing asymptomatic novel coronavirus infection, acknowledging the significant role of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in pandemic intervention.
Methods
Asymptomatic individuals were randomly assigned to three groups: nonpharmacological treatment only, comprehensive treatment with QFPG combined with nonpharmacological therapies, and pharmacological treatment with only QFPG. The participants were observed for clinical efficacy and safety, including COVID-19 nucleic acid detection conversion time, duration of hospitalization, and occurrence of adverse events.
Results
The study found that the combination of QFPG with nonpharmacological interventions led to a shortened conversion time of COVID-19 nucleic acid detection and reduced the conversion rate from asymptomatic infection to mild/moderate cases. This treatment approach showed potential benefit for managing asymptomatic patients during pandemics.
Conclusion
Combining QFPG with traditional Chinese nonpharmacological interventions effectively shortened the conversion time of COVID-19 nucleic acid detection and reduced the conversion rate from asymptomatic infection to mild/moderate cases. This treatment approach is worth promoting in the management of asymptomatic patients during pandemics.
