Modern Pharmacotherapy of Acute Bacterial Sinusitis: Clinical Trial Results
Objective
To compare the effectiveness of Cefixim Express and Suprax Solutab in treating acute bacterial sinusitis.
Methods
60 adult patients with acute bacterial sinusitis were divided into two groups. Group 1 received Cefixim Express, and Group 2 received Suprax Solutab. Both groups took 400 mg dispersible tablets once daily for 7 days. Patients underwent clinical examinations and symptom assessments before treatment, 3 days after starting therapy, and at the end of the 7-day course.
Results
Both drugs showed comparable effectiveness in treating acute bacterial sinusitis, with 63.3% of Group 1 and 66.67% of Group 2 patients showing recovery by the 7th day. Symptoms improved similarly in both groups, and adverse reactions were minimal and comparable between the two groups.
Conclusion
Cefixim Express demonstrated high therapeutic effectiveness and good tolerability, comparable to Suprax Solutab, in treating acute bacterial sinusitis.
