Background
Cancer and its treatments can negatively impact fertility and sexual health. However, there are few proven ways to help those affected. This study introduces Fex-Can 2.0, an online program designed to support young adults with cancer by addressing fertility-related worries and sexual issues.
Study Goals
The main goal of this study is to see if Fex-Can 2.0 can effectively reduce anxiety about fertility and improve sexual health after 12 weeks of use. We will also check how feasible the study is through interviews and data collection.
Methods
This study will compare two groups: one using Fex-Can 2.0 and another receiving standard care. We will measure:
- Fertility-related anxiety
- Sexual function and satisfaction
- Body image
- Emotional distress
- Quality of life
- Knowledge about fertility and sexual health
- Confidence in managing fertility and sexual issues
These will be assessed at the start, right after the program, and again 12 weeks later. We will also gather feedback to understand how well the program is accepted.
Conclusion
This trial aims to find out if Fex-Can 2.0 is better than standard care for reducing anxiety about fertility and improving sexual health in young cancer patients. If successful, this program could greatly enhance support for those facing these challenges.
